History
With the original charter in 1949 the club has a rich history with its membership taking pride in its dedication to model railroading and the enjoyment of the hobby.
Where we are
Located at the Arizona State Fair Grounds in Phoenix, Arizona, we are centrally located for all members and visitors. Our membership collaborates all year long to provide optimal fulfillment of the hobby to its members. During the annual State Fair operating times we are on display as an exhibit to the public so that we can share the enjoyment of model railroading to all that have an interest.
Model Railroading as a Hobby
Model Railroading is a unique hobby that brings more to the table than most people know. Most looking at the hobby as playing with toy trains but for those of us that have experience it, it is so much more. The hobby provides you with knowledge of history, engineering, and electrical items. We get to work with our hands and create masterful recreations of beautiful scenery and operating replicas of a transportation systems that have been the heart of our country for more than a century. Most of all it is finding the amount of joy that can be had with such a sense of accomplishment in just being a part of it all.
